Repair it, or replace it?

A chip smaller than a quarter or a crack shorter than a few inches, away from the edge and out of the driver's line of sight, can usually be repaired. Anything larger, anything at the edge, or damage that has spread means replacement.

If you're not sure, send a photo. We'd rather repair a windshield for less money when it's safe to do so than replace one that didn't need it. When it does need replacing, here's what you can expect.

What happens on the day

We arrive at the time we agreed on, at your home, your workplace, or wherever the vehicle is parked. The old windshield comes out, the frame is cleaned and prepped, new adhesive goes down, and the new glass goes in. The work area is protected and cleaned up when we're done.

If your vehicle has a forward-facing camera for lane-keeping, adaptive cruise, or automatic braking, the windshield replacement is only half the job. That camera needs to be recalibrated to the new glass. We'll tell you up front whether your vehicle needs it and how it's handled.

Before we leave, you'll know the safe drive-away time for your vehicle and anything to avoid for the first day, like car washes or slamming the doors.

Built rigs are welcome here

Racks, light bars, snorkels, lifted suspensions: accessories get worked around carefully, and the glass that goes in matches what your build needs.

Owen w Perfect Touch Auto Glass has been recommended throughout our 4R community! So glad I went with him. He is familiar with our rides. Owen even got my window tint strip for me (short people problems!) Much appreciated his quick response and work. He was able to install at my home. Will be using him again of course!

Before: two impact breaks, one up top and one at the pillar. Either one that size is past repairing. This windshield needed to be replaced.

Paying for it: insurance or out of pocket

If you carry comprehensive coverage, windshield replacement is often covered, sometimes with no deductible depending on your policy. We work with all insurance companies and handle the paperwork with you. You make one call to us, and we take it from there. Details on how the claim works.

Paying yourself? We'll give you a firm quote for your exact vehicle before any work is scheduled, with no add-ons at the end.

Vehicles we work on

Cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans, including work trucks and fleet vehicles. We don't work on RVs or semis, and a few vehicles won't physically fit the mobile setup: Tesla Model X, Cybertruck, and tall-roof Transit vans. Classics are case by case, so call and ask. Fleet and multi-vehicle accounts are welcome.

How it works

  1. Tell us what happened. Call, text, or send a request with your vehicle's year, make, and model and where the damage is.
  2. Get a straight answer. We'll tell you whether it's a repair or a replacement, what it costs, and whether your insurance will likely cover it.
  3. We come to you. Pick a time and place that works. Your driveway, your office parking lot, wherever your vehicle is in the Valley.
  4. Drive away done. We finish the job on site and tell you exactly how long to wait before driving.

Windshield replacement questions

How much does a windshield replacement cost in the Phoenix area?

It depends on the vehicle. Glass with rain sensors, heads-up display, or ADAS cameras costs more than a basic windshield. Call or text with your year, make, and model and we'll give you a real number, not a range. If you have comprehensive coverage, your insurance may cover most or all of it.

How long before I can drive after the windshield is replaced?

The adhesive needs time to cure before the windshield is safe in a collision. The exact time depends on the adhesive and the weather that day. We'll tell you the safe drive-away time for your vehicle before we leave. We use SikaTack ULTIMATE, and its rated safe drive-away in Arizona conditions is 30 minutes.

Do you use OEM glass?

We install glass from major OEM manufacturers on every job. Factory-branded OEM glass can be requested through your insurance carrier; approval is up to them, and it's usually reserved for newer vehicles or ones with special features. For cash jobs, OEM branding rarely justifies the premium. Either way, you'll know your options before you decide.

My car has lane-keeping or automatic braking. Does that matter?

Yes. Those systems use a camera mounted to the windshield. After the glass is replaced the camera usually needs to be recalibrated so the system sees the road correctly. See ADAS recalibration for how that works.

Is there a warranty on the work?

Yes: a full labor and materials warranty covering workmanship and product defects. The one thing it can't cover is new damage. If a rock cracks your new windshield next month, that's a new claim, not a defect. But if the glass or the install is ever the problem, we make it right.

Cracked? Chipped? We've got you covered.

Call or text for a quote, or send a request and we'll get back to you. We bring the shop to you, anywhere in the Valley.
